PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder wherein timings for emitting a beam on a scanning target position and a scanning position adjacent thereto are shifted with each other and an overlapping of light quantity distributions in a sub-scanning direction of a beam can be suppressed. SOLUTION: The image exposing is executed in a constitution that a plurality of beams corresponding to image information are applied to scanning positions a31, b31, a32, b32... on an image carrier body 1 which are not adjacent with each other. The image exposing is executed in such a manner that the timing for emitting the beam to the scanning target position a31 at a time of exposing the image and the timing for emitting the beam to the scanning position b30 adjacent thereto are shifted with each other, thereby suppressing the overlapping of the light quantity distributions.
