PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crawler traveling body capable of surely varying a lateral width to a lateral width enlarged position and stably maintaining the condition in the lateral width enlarged position. SOLUTION: Hydraulic cylinders 13 to 16 are disposed in a connection part 1a of a truck frame 1, and a limit switch 21 for detecting the lateral width enlarged position of a side frame 2 is provided. When an extensible and shrinkable cylinder 3 of the side frame 2 is operated and the lateral width enlarged position of the side frame 2 is detected by the limit switch 21, the condition is notified by a lamp 43 and the hydraulic cylinders 13 to 16 are extended to close a space between the truck frame 1 and the side frame 2. Thus, the stability of the vehicle body is secured.
