PURPOSE: A preheating system of a diesel engine is provided to properly preheat a suction air to start an engine by selectively applying a glow plug method and an intake heater method according to the temperature in winter. CONSTITUTION: A glow plug(10) and an intake heater(14) are installed together at a diesel engine. A temperature sensor(16) detecting the temperature of a coolant and an engine speed sensor(18) detecting the engine RPM are connected to a receiving part of a controller. The glow plug and the intake heater are connected to a transmitting part of the controller. A relay(26) for the glow plug is connected between the glow plug and the transmitting part of the controller, and a relay(28) for the intake heater is connected between the intake heater and the transmitting part of the controller.
