Composite material designed to capture one type of acidic (or basic) compounds comprises at least one first acidic (or basic) polymer and second basic (or acidic) polymer with high affinity to compound to be detected, the latter having acidity (or basicity) higher than acidity (or basicity) of the first acidic (or basic) polymer. Independent claims are also included for: (1) production, on the substrate, of the thin film of composite material as claimed, by a) depositing solution comprising weakly basic polymer and acidic polymer of siloxane type in first solvent, and crosslinking agent in solvents, b) depositing solution containing platinum catalyst in solvent, and c) evaporating solvents; (2) a chemical sensor comprising film of material as claimed and a device capable of transforming variations of physical properties into optical or electric signals.
