Cosmetic composition contains retinol and compound capable of acting as filter of UVA irradiation, in physiologically acceptable medium. The composition contains, in physiologically acceptable medium, retinol, and a compound capable of acting as UVA filter, of formula (I) whose sulfonic acid group can be entirely or partially neutralized with alkali metal or alkaline earth hydroxide, ammonia or organic base. Z = group (a); R2 = -H or -SO3H; n = 0 or 1-4; R1 = linear or branched one or more 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy radical.
