PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing method and an information processing apparatus that can store lists not in existence in a device through transfer of them as a result of collation of a list menu. SOLUTION: When a master unit confirms the connection of a slave unit to the master unit, the master unit requests the slave unit to transfer a list menu of the slave unit. When the master unit confirms a list not in existence in the master unit as a result of collation of the transferred list menu with the lists of the master unit, the master unit receives transferred information of the lists from the slave unit and stores the information. Thus, this method can considerably simplify a job where the list information of the master unit and the slave unit is individually confirmed, the list information possessed by the slave unit only is selected, and the selected list information is transferred to the master unit. Since the collation of the list information is completely electronized, mistakes such as duplicate possession of the same list information and partial missing of the list information caused by incorrect collation can surely be prevented. Since the master unit can possess all of the lists in existence in the slave unit, unitary management of the lists can be facilitated.
