PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolated structure, capable of fully displaying damping function against vibrations by effectively utilizing an extending section covering the upper section of base-isolation clearance. SOLUTION: The base-isolation clearance S is formed on the outer periphery of a building 10 as the seismically isolated structure, and seismic isolators 30 are installed between the building 10 and a foundation 20. A scarcement 11 is mounted to the building 10 as the extending section covering the upper section of the base-isolation clearance S, and a damping material 31 capable of damping the vibrations of the building 10 is secured between the scarcement 11 and a retaining wall 21 on the foundation 20 side.
