PURPOSE: A control method for preventing water level sensing errors of a washing machine is provided to normally operate the washing machine if output pulse of a water level sensor is normally input to a microcomputer even though water level sensing incapacity is determined due to the noise or temporal contact failure. CONSTITUTION: A control method for preventing water level sensing errors of a washing machine includes the steps of counting a predetermined time period by a microcomputer, sensing a frequency value input to the microcomputer from a water level sensor for the predetermined time period, sensing whether a frequency sensed after the predetermined time period is in a frequency range corresponding to the contact failure of the water level sensor, repeating the contact error sensing step by the predetermined number of time, and determining water level sensing incapacity and stopping the operation of the washing machine or normally carrying out the operation of the washing machine.
