<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and equipment for packet communication which allows the transmission of a packet for a multicast group between a plurality of buses connected via bridges. SOLUTION: When transmitting a packet to the multicast group, nodes 501 and 503 connected to the buses 509 and 510 respectively via the bridge 507 obtain a channel from a specified administrative node, to become an administrative node itself. The nodes 501 and 503 now serving as administrative nodes periodically broadcast the channel associating information. When the bridge 507 connected to the buses 509 and 510 receives the channel associating information from the buses on both sides, it associates the channels included in this information with each other, and then transmits a multicast packet.</p> |
