PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten a panel by narrowing the part outer than a display area as much as possible, and to keep a sealing member at a distance from a display area to prevent characteristics such as flickering and the like in the vicinity of the peripheral part of the display area from being deteriorated, by giving a sealing member a role to seal the peripheral end panel and also securing strength as an envelope by joining two substrates even though the sealing member is slenderly formed. SOLUTION: The envelope is airtightly sealed by forming the slender sealing member at the terminal end part of a substrate, and panel strength is secured by reinforcing the outside of the sealing member by a fixing member.
