PURPOSE: An inverter apparatus for driving a motor is provided to achieve a stable operation of the motor by maintaining the motor current constant regardless of distortion of DC link voltage generated from the rectification and smoothing of AC power. CONSTITUTION: An inverter apparatus comprises a voltage transformer unit(10), a voltage detector(20), a switching unit(50), a signal generating unit(30), and a micro computer(40). The voltage transformer unit(10) receives AC power from an external source, and converts the received AC power into a DC power through rectification and smoothing. The voltage detector(20) detects the DC voltage output from the voltage transformer unit. The switching unit(50) performs a switching operation for transferring a motor driving signal current to the coil of the motor. The signal generating unit(30) generates a pulse width modulation signal having a predetermined size and frequency by performing an arithmetic operation to the DC voltage detected from the voltage detector. The micro computer(40) controls switching operation of the switching unit in accordance with the pulse width modulation signal output from the signal generating unit.
