A bioassay reagent is provided consisting of a xenogeneic antibody containin g plasma. Specifically, the bioassay reagent disclosed contains plasma from a first animal species and antibodies derived from at least one second differe nt animal species that recognize antigens indigenous to the first animal specie s. More specifically, a bioassay for assessing the efficacy of therapeutics intended to treat patients having autoimmune diseases, specifically, hemophiliacs having anti-blood factor antibodies (inhibitory factors) presen t in their blood. Also provided are associated methods for making and using th e bioassay reagents disclosed.
