The method involves illuminating the bore and optically measuring the illuminated inlet and outlet edges of the bore. Only a small band in the short wavelength range of the light is used for the illumination and/or the measurement. An Independent claim is provided for an arrangement for the bore determination with a light source (20) and a monochromatic filter (25), which is arranged in the light path before or after a camera.
