Method for operating a combustion chamber (11) of a gas turbine (18) powered by dried brown coal utilizes water removed from the brown coal in a fluidized bed dryer (1) on the action of heat. This water initially leaves the fluidized bed dryer as wet steam which is brought up to a higher pressure and temperature by a pump (7) and then fed into a heat exchanger (2) in the fluidized bed dryer which releases condensation water at its outlet (9). The condensation water is vaporized in a boiler (3) by exhaust gases from the gas turbine and the steam produced is fed to the combustion chamber. An Independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the method. Preferred Features: Part of the steam produced in the boiler is directed into the fluidized bed dryer to produce heat.
