Herbicide device and method of applying a herbicide to remove unwanted vegetation growth, the herbicide device having a reservoir (11), a valve unit (21), an applicator (50) and a safety cover (20) with a child-proof locking feature (70) to securably contain the herbicide in the reservoir when the device is not in use, the method including the steps of providing herbicide in a reservoir (11) and selectively delivering the herbicide to unwanted vegetation by direct contact of an applicator (50) containing the herbicide with the unwanted plant or vegetation.
