PURPOSE: A lamp control device for a vehicle is provided to keep a safe distance from a vehicle ahead by systemically warning to a following vehicle driver with varying the lighting state of a brake lamp according to speed difference in putting on brakes and by automatically and differentially lighting a headlight and a taillight corresponding to brightness and vehicle speed. CONSTITUTION: A lamp control device comprises an automatic lighting control unit(10) comparing luminosity from an optical sensor(11) with the set luminosity from a standard luminosity setting unit(12), and lighting a headlight(19) by controlling a headlight switch(17) through a comparator(16) within the headlight control range and a taillight(20) by controlling a taillight switch(18) through a taillight control range setting unit(15) within the taillight control range with outputting signals from a control level separation unit(13) to headlight and taillight control range setting units; an instantaneous luminosity detecting unit(30) having a luminosity difference detecting unit(31), a voltage difference converting unit(32) generating the voltage signal in proportion to the output of the luminosity difference detecting unit, and a drive(33) amplifying the output signal from the voltage difference converting unit; a vehicle speed control unit(40) having a differentiator(42) converting a square wave signal from a vehicle speed sensor(41) into a pulse wave signal, an F-V converter(43) converting the frequency change of the pulse wave signal into the voltage change, and a vehicle speed compensating unit(44) delaying the output of the F-V converter; and a brake lamp control unit(50) having a brake lamp lighting number setting unit(52) setting the switching number of a brake lamp switch unit(53) turning on and off a brake lamp(54) according to a brake(51) and signals from the vehicle speed control unit.
