PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin foam safe and slight in load on the environment, also having high expansion ratio and excellent flexibility. SOLUTION: This resin foam is characterized by comprising (A) a thermoplastic polymer and (B) a multiple metal hydroxide of polyhedral shape shown by the formula (1): m(MaOb).n(QdOe).cH2O (M and Q are each a metallic element differing from each other, Q is a group IVa, Va, VIa, VIIa, VIII, Ib or IIb metallic element; m, n, a, b, c, d and e are each a positive number; M is preferably, e.g. magnesium, while Q is preferably, e.g. nickel, zinc).
