PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording head which is superior in responsiveness, can obtain a full ink drop discharge speed and can be simplified in a manufacturing process. SOLUTION: A channel member for forming the ink jet recording head 20 has a plurality of diaphragms 1 formed of piezoelectric ceramics and arranged in parallel on an insulating substrate 4. Between the diaphragms 1 is made an ink channel 2, and an electrode 3 for driving is set to a side face of each diaphragm 1. Ink reservoirs 6 and 7 are formed to the side of both ends of each diaphragm 1 to communicate with each channel 2. A recess 22 is formed on the insulating substrate 4 which constitutes at least one ink reservoir 7. An end face of the diaphragm 1 at the side of the recess 22 is made an inclined face 1b expanding outside from a top part 1a to a bottom part. The inclined face 1b is extended to a bottom face 22a of the recess on the insulating substrate 4. Moreover, a leader 23 of the electrode 3 for driving is integrally formed to the inclined face 1b of the diaphragm 1 and to the bottom face 22a of the recess on the insulating substrate 4.
