PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining device capable of reducing a gap at the fitting part of outer teeth and inner teeth within a gear mechanism and reducing a manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The device consists of a lower arm 10 fixed to a seat cushion and having plural fitting holes 11 bored surrounding the position of the tilting center of a seat back, an upper arm 20 fixed to the seat back and having plural fitting holes 21 bored surrounding the position of the tilting center of the seat back, a nearly disk-like outer tooth gear 31 having the outer teeth 31b on its outer peripheral surface and having plural projections 31a fitted on the holes 11 at the arm 10, an inner tooth gear 32 having a larger number of teeth than the teeth 31b to be fitted with the teeth 31b at the gear 31 and having plural projections 32a on the side face fitted to the holes 21 at the arm 20, and a rotary shaft 33 fitted to the gear 31 coaxially and rotatably and rotating one of the gear 31 and the gear 32 with the other gear shaft in a center. The inclination of the seatback is adjusted by rotating the shaft 33.
