PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for preparing 1,1,1-trifluoropropene (TFP) by the uncatalyzed liquid-phase fluorination of 1,1,3-trichloro-1-propene (TCP). SOLUTION: This process comprises (a) bringing the TCP into contact with hydrogen fluoride under conditions sufficient to produce the TFP and (b) separating the TFP product from the resultant reactional mixture in (a).
