PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a skin cosmetic capable of keeping normal barrier function of the dermal horny layer, and having activities for recovering the reduction of the barrier function and enhancing the function, and in addition, capable of heightening water retention of the horny layer, and having excellent activities for ameliorating rough skin, or the like. SOLUTION: This skin cosmetic contains (A) a diamide compound represented by formula 1 (wherein, R1 is a 1-22C linear or branched hydrocarbon group which may be substituted with hydroxy group or an alkoxy group; R2 is a 1-12C linear or branched divalent hydrocarbon group; R3 is a 1-42C linear or branched divalent hydrocarbon group), and (B) following (B1) and/or (B2): (B1) a water-soluble humectant selected from a polyhydric alcohol, an organic acid or its salts or derivatives, and a plant essence; (B2) a lipid component among keratinocytes.
