PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excretion observing system achieving excellent durability, and precision for detecting the excretion. SOLUTION: This excretion observing system 1 comprises a moisture detecting means 3, an odor detecting means 6, a data processing device 10, and a monitor 40. The moisture detecting means 3 detects moisture contained in gas in underwear 51 of a subject 5 by disposing a moisture sensor main body 30 to be contactless with the underwear 51. The data processing device 10 determines quantity of moisture based on moisture data measured by the moisture detecting means 3, and quantity of odor based on odor data measured by the odor detecting means 6. The excretion observing system 1 observes excretion states of the subject 5 based on change of the quantity of moisture and the quantity of odor displayed on a monitor 40.
