PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reconcile the suppression of the odor from an evaporator with the improvement of the power saving effect of a compressor drive source in a vehicular air conditioner continuously controlling the operation of the compressor of a refrigerating cycle. SOLUTION: When a target evaporator temperature corresponds to the conditions for the generation of the odor from the evaporator 9, the target evaporator temperature is set to a temperature below the wet-bulb temperature Twet of the evaporator intake air and higher than the dew-point temperature Trt of the intake air. The upper limit of the evaporator temperature is limited below the wet-bulb temperature Twet of the evaporator intake air, and the evaporator temperature can be again lowered before the condensed water dries up. The evaporator surface is kept at a wet state by the condensed water, and the generation of the odor from the evaporator 9 can be suppressed.
