PURPOSE: An apparatus for multiplexing and demultiplexing visual synchronous signal and synchronous clock is provided, which multiplexes and demultiplexes a visual synchronous signal and a synchronous clock in a communication system adopting a visual communication system. CONSTITUTION: A visual synchronous signal detector(100) detects a signal obtained from a GPS(Global Positioning Apparatus), and generates a synchronous signal detection signal if a visual synchronous signal is detected. A frame generation controller(200) stores a frame synchronous signal pattern inputted from an external control interface, and controls a frame generation by generating the stored frame synchronous signal pattern and a synchronous signal insertion request signal if the synchronous signal detection signal is generated from the visual synchronous signal detector. A frame signal generator(300) replaces a synchronous clock with the frame synchronous signal pattern according to the frame synchronous signal insertion request signal and then outputs a synchronous signal frame.
