摘要 PURPOSE: A metro WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) system having a direct modulation type by an optical filtering method is provided to effectively control a color distribution effect by chirping generated in a direct modulation system, a penalty by an optical extinction ratio, and a nonlinear effect generated in multi-channel transmission, so that a transmission distance can be extended. CONSTITUTION: An LD(Laser Diode,10) mounted on a transmission unit, is directly modulated through a laser operator to change a carrier of a laser. A first AWG(Arrayed-Waveguide Grating,20) multiplexes and optically filters wavelength divided signals. A first booster amplifier(30) outputs and amplifies the optical signals generated from the first AWG(20). A first SMF(Single Mode Fiber,40) transmits the optical amplifying signals outputted from the first booster amplifier(30) through an optical fiber. An in-line amplifier(50) re-amplifies the optical amplifying signals through an in-line. A second SMF(60) transmits the re-amplified optical signals through the optical fiber to a receiving unit. A second AWG(70) de-multiplexes and optically filters the optical signals multiplexed in the transmission unit. And an optical receiver(80) receives the optical signals generated from the second AWG(70).
