PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce effects by a fine structure, noise, etc., such as mammary gland, blood vessel, etc., in detecting a candidate area, and to utilize a detailed fine structure when evaluating malignancy of the candidate area. SOLUTION: A low resolution image acquiring means 10 acquires the low resolution image data P' based on the input original image data P, a high resolution image acquiring means 30 acquires the high resolution image data P" based on the input original image data P, and a candidate area detecting means 20 detects the candidate area of abnormality in the image by inputting the low resolution image data P'. A malignancy evaluating means 40 inputs the position data on the low resolution image of the candidate area from the candidate area detecting means 20, and inputs the high resolution image data P" from the high resolution image acquiring means 30, and evaluates the malignancy of the candidate area based on the input high resolution image data P" and the position data on the high resolution image acquired by converting the position data in the candidate area on the low resolution image. |
