SOLUTION: The signal transmission system of this invention is provided with a signal transmitter 101 having an MPEG decoder 102 that receives a digital broadcast and outputs one luminance signal Y and two color difference signals PB/PR and a transmission line coding circuit 103 that codes signals YPRPB outputted from the MPEG decoder 102 into a signal form in matching with a transmission channel and transmits them, and with a signal receiver 104 having a transmission line decoding circuit 105 that receives the coded signals YPRPB and decodes them, a Y processing circuit 106 that processes the decoded luminance signal Y, a color processing circuit 107 that processes the decoded color difference signals PB/PR, a signal conversion circuit 108 that converts the signals YPRPB outputted from the Y processing circuit 106 and the color processing circuit 107 into RGB signals, and a display device 109 that displays the RGB signals.
