PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of a ramp load type magnetic disk unit by preventing generation of a scratch on a recording and reproducing region of a magnetic disk even though a shock is exerted onto the unit. SOLUTION: A magnetic head 4 conducts a recording and a reproducing of information to and from a magnetic disk 3. The head 4 is mounted on a suspension to which a tab 15 is integrally formed. When the head 4 moves to a ramp 7 side by the suspension, the tab 15 slides from a load/unload incline 18 to a tip section flat surface 19 and is unloaded. A protrusion 20 is provided on a surface 17 facing the disk 3, of the ramp 7 and at an outer peripheral side of a recording and reproducing region R of the disk 3.
