An electrical connection unit includes a first selection relay (K3), controlled through a first control line, having a first (5) and second (6) rest/working contacts arranged to respectively connect each to one of the data inputs (H.L) of an input connector (J3), either to a dynamic signal controller input (3,4) when the relay is at rest or to an input of a resistance meter (2) when the selector really (K3) is actuated. Digital data transmission network tester including a controller and electrical connections to connect the controller to the data transmission lines (H,L), an earth connection and eventually to a permanent and non permanent supply line. The tester includes an electrical voltage meter (1) for the controller, an electrical resistance meter (2) and a dynamic signal controller (3,4). The electrical connector has an input connector (J3) having inputs (H,L,GND, + BAT, COM) for the network line to be tested, several relays (K1-K8) and switches (W+SW2-SW4) arranged to connect as required and individually the inputs and each of the control units (1-4). The tester also includes a programmed control unit (30) controlling the components (K1-K8, SW2-SW4) and the control units (1-4) according to a pre-defined suite of test stages.
