PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide radiation image information-reading method and device that are capable of speedy reading, can obtain a high-quality radiation image, and can be put into practical applications easily. SOLUTION: A storage phosphor sheet is irradiated linearly with pulse-form excitation light, the electronic shutter of a line sensor where a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements having an electronic shutter for controlling the accumulation of charges are arranged linearly is closed when the pulsive excitation light is emitted and is opened after the emission ends, accelerated phosphorescence emission light that is generated from the sheet is received one-dimensionally by a line sensor during a period after the completion of the emission of the pulsive excitation light for performing photoelectric conversion, and then output from the line sensor is read to obtain radiation image information as an electric image signal.
