PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device capable of clearly informing a user of processing to plural recording media. SOLUTION: This recording and reproducing device comprises a 1st recording and reproducing means (35) which records information in a 1st information recording medium (1001) and also reproduces the information recorded in the 1st information recording medium, a 2nd recording and reproducing device (2001) which records information in a 2nd information recording medium (hard disk) and also reproduces the information recorded in the 2nd information recording medium, and a 1st display means (48) for displaying operation states of recording and reproduction by the 1st and 2nd recording and reproducing means, a recording rate to the 1st and 2nd information recording media, and sound levels reproduced from the 1st and 2nd information recording media.
