PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an energy subtraction image of high quality in the energy subtraction using the image signal obtained from a face and back side reading and storage phosphor sheet. SOLUTION: In this method for obtaining the energy subtraction image signal by subtracting a first image signal read from a first sheet 1A on the side closer to an object out of the face and back side reading and storage phosphor sheets 1A and 1B in which radiation transmitting the object is simultaneously irradiated with an energy separation filter 2 interposed therebetween in an overlapping manner the radiographic image of the object 4 is recorded, and a second image signal read from the second sheet 1B on the side farther than the object, each surface image signal and each back image signal read from both face and back sides of the first and second sheets 1A and 1B are added respectively to obtain the first and second image signals. In this case, the optimum addition ratio is selected among a plurality of addition ratios prepared in advance for performing addition. |
