PURPOSE: A method for registering the location of a mobile terminal using an AVLR(Auxiliary Visitor Location Register) is provided to manage location information for all mobile terminals, regardless of the signal traffic increase of a BTS(Base station Transceiver Subsystem) and an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) and the performance of a VLR. CONSTITUTION: An AVLR is added to the configuration of a generic mobile phone system. The AVLR is connected with a BSC(Base Station Controller) in the mobile phone system. An HDLC(High level Data Link Control) interface, the BSC's internal interface, is used as the interface between the AVLR and the BSC. The AVLR stores and transmits the location information of each terminal. |
