PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data collecting system capable of perform an efficient data collection in a shorter communication time in the data collection from a radio by switching a radio unit, at a point near an express communication route for directly communicating with a radio unit in a far point communicatable by express. SOLUTION: This data collection system comprises collecting data in a data collection unit from a radio unit, at a certain position through a communication route passing through a plurality of radio units in other points. The communication route is preliminarily formed of a general communication route and an express communication route having a number of radio units to be passed smaller than that of the general communication route, and it comprises a determination means for determining the need for the express communication route; and an express communication means for determining, when the determination means determines the necessity of the express communication route, an express communicable radio unit with a small number of passing frequency for conducting the communication.
