PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control media converters having different control procedures methods by one media conversion controller. SOLUTION: The media conversion controller has a means for recording parameters for identifying a media converter and control procedures methods used for controlling the media converters as a table wherein the parameters and methods are associated with each other, and selects a control procedures method suitable for the media converter based on the table. When the control of the media converter is requested by an upper software, the media conversion controller requests a 'control procedures method proxy object' to execute relevant processing according to the unified procedures provided by a 'device control basic object', and the 'control method procedures proxy object' executes the processing following the control procedures method suitable for the targeted media converter. Then, by using an interface provided by a 'control procedures method mounted subsystem', the control procedures method can be changed without making any modifications to the upper software.
