The method is for the production of dried sawn timber, reducing or eliminating the inherent property of timber concerning its tendency to deformation or to eradicate already developed deformation. The counter deformation measures are enacted at the same time as the temperature of the timber is altered. The extent and direction of the counter deformation are varied as the temperature of the timber is altered.
