When the telephone of the person in charge of the customer is set to an absence mode and the telephone receives a call from the customer via the public switched network 2, a server/ client terminal 5a serches the customer data 601 including the telephone number which is identified with the notified caller's number, generates an e-mail including customer's information addressed to the mail address of the person in charge of the customer, and then sends it to the public switched network 2 whereon the e-mail service is operated via a LAN 6 and router/public network adaptor 7.
