PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely secure Master vac negative pressure by eliminating the lowering of engine rotation speed without causing misfire in changing over from stratified combustion to homogenous premixed combustion due to shortage of the Master vac negative pressure. SOLUTION: When the Master vac negative pressure is secured and controlled by changing over from the stratified combustion to the homogeneous premixed combustion, and electronic control unit(ECU) 12 correctively increases the fuel injection quantity of an injector 7 synchronous with the changeover from the stratified combustion to the homogeneous premixed combustion based on a fuel increase correction factor. The initial value of the fuel increase correction factor is set synchronously with the changeover from the stratified combustion to the homogeneous premixed combustion and gradually decreases after that.
