PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an aluminum alloy resulting from increasing thermal conductivity of the conventional Al-Si die casting alloy for a heat sink while securing its die castability. SOLUTION: This aluminum alloy material for a heat sink, having excellent thermal conductivity, has a composition containing, by weight, 4.0 to 14.0% Si and 0.2 to 1.0% Fe and further containing at least one or more kinds selected from the groups consisting of 0.003 to 0.05% Ca, 0.003 to 0.05% Sr and 0.003 to 0.05% Na, and the balance aluminum with inevitable impurities.
