PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back pressure resistance test method for filter cartridge applicable to an actual plant by applying a back pressure to a filter cartridge in the same condition as the back pressure such as water hammer or the like generated in the filtering process of the actual plant, and measuring the back pressure resistance value when laminating the filter cartridge in one layer or a plurality thereof. SOLUTION: One filter cartridge 12 or a plurality thereof are laminated, and a test liquid is passed from the secondary side piping 24 of the filter cartridge while pressurizing it, and when the filter cartridge is broken, the test liquid pressure at that time is measured as the back pressure resistance value of the filter cartridge. As the test liquid, a suspension of a porous colored powder is used.
