PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deterioration diagnostic device for a CV (cross-linked polyethylene insulated vinyl sheath) cable. SOLUTION: A V-shaped lower electrode 1 formed out of an aluminum plate is covered with a cover-shaped upper electrode 11 on its upper end to form an enclosure shape, and U-shaped oblong holes are formed as screw insertion holes 14 at the lower edges of the upper electrode 11 at their overlapped portions. The upper electrode 11 is made slidable and separable from the lower electrode 1, with screws 4b kept screwed into the lower electrode 1. The cable 50 of various radius can be pinched in the expandable/shrinkable enclosure shape and measured at a plurality of positions. Piezoelectric elements 5, 5, 15 are provided on V-shaped both inclined faces 2 and 2 of the lower electrode 1 and the upper face of the upper electrode 11, and the piezoelectric elements 5 on the lower electrode 11 are made slidable against the arranged faces 2. When the CV cable 50 of different radius is pinched, the piezoelectric elements 5 on the lower electrode 1 are slid so that their centers coincide with the positions corresponding to the contact points after a change.
