PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas transporting method in a natural gas pipeline which improves breakage safety of the pipeline by suppressing propagation of high- speed ductile fracture of a pipeline, and prevents a large-scale breakage. SOLUTION: The natural gas having methane as the main, regulated such that a maximum pressure of two phase region before transportation is not greater than 1/3 of an operation pressure during transportation of the natural gas, is transported. Specifically, following is a condition of a content ratio expressed in molar % of the components other than methane in the natural gas having methane as the main componet before transportation, and the natural gas is transported at a pressure >=20 MPa of operating pressure: (ethane %)/19+(propane %)/4.2+(isobutane %)/1.6+(normal butane %)/1.2+(isopentane %)/0.48+(normal pentane %)/0.36+ (hexane %)/0.11+(heptane %)/0.036+(octane %)/0.012+(H2S%) /7.0+(CO2%)/20<=1.0.
