PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase stiffness of a rail and achieve weight reduction. SOLUTION: A vertical rail 38 (rail) and a slide unit 39 (nut) constitute a linear guide. The vertical rail 38 is manufactured of iron or stainless steel and prismatically shaped. A guide groove 38A in which a projecting portion 39A of the slide nut 39 and a ball 47 are fitted, is formed on the both side surface portions. The vertical rail 38 is provided with a hole 38B penetrating in a longitudinal direction, which leads to the increase of stiffness and reduction of weight of the rail. While the vertical rail 38 is hollow shape, more specifically, the cross-sectional shape of the hole 38B may be either square or circular. In such a case, the stiffness can be also increased by filling the hole 38B with a celanx material filler 50 made by blending aluminum material with ceramic material. |
