PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double feed sensing device for sheet-by-sheet printer of a simple constitution and capable of altering the setting of the sensing conditions easily. SOLUTION: A metal ball 4 borne in such a way as capable of vertical motions and rotation and a proximity sensor 3 are positioned confronting and installed in a sheet running part, and the measured voltage sent from the proximity sensor 3 on the basis of the variation of the gap between the sensor 3 and the metal ball 4 moving up and down in accordance with the thickness of the sheet running is fed to a comparator 7, which compares the measured voltage with the reference value and emits a signal, and alteration of the setting of the sensing conditions is conducted using the adjusting function of the reference voltage value unchangedly which the comparator 7 itself possesses. |
