PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for driving a plasma display panel which is erasable at a low voltage level. SOLUTION: Consecutively to the final sustained pulse in a sustained period, an auxiliary pulse of the polarity inverted to the sustained pulse is applied. Moreover, discharge across an address electrode and a row electrode is controlled by applying a voltage to the address electrode for the auxiliary pulse applying period.
