<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for melting scrap and a melting furnace with which flowing-out of imperfect-melting scrap from a discharge port can be prevented. SOLUTION: In the melting furnace having a furnace body 2 for holding molten material M and plural sets of top-blown lances 3 arranged in positions at the upper part of the furnace body 2 and faced to the upper surface of the molten material M, from the upper view, plural top-blown lances 3 are combined so that the tip parts of plural top-blown lances 3 are formed in a straight line. Then, in the two zones A, B on the upper surface of the molten material M formed by dividing with a straight line L obtained by connecting the tip parts of these top-blown lances 3, this furnace is constituted so as to include a charging port 4 in the zone A and the discharge port 5 in the other zone B.</p> |
