PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element which has a long life and a high luminous efficacy and emits red light, and to provide a new hydrocarbon compound capable of realizing the organic electroluminescence element. SOLUTION: This new hydrocarbon compound represented by the general formula [1] (substituents of R1 to R16 are each independently H, hydroxyl, amino, cyano, an alkyl, an alkenyl, a cycloalkyl, an alkoxy, an aromatic hydrocarbon, an aromatic heterocyclic group, an aralkyl, an aryloxy, an alkoxycarbonyl or carboxyl; the substituents of R1 to R16 may each independently form a ring structure together with the other substituents of R1 to R16, an alkylthio, or an arylthio, provided that at least three of the substituents of R1 to R16 are each amino, an aromatic hydrocarbon or an aromatic heterocyclic group), and the organic electroluminescence element in which at least one layer of at least luminous layer-having organic compound layers contains the new hydrocarbon compound.
