PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely obtain nearly uniform light quantity distribution characteristics along the width of storage phosphor sheet and to perform effi cient erasure processing through simple constitution. SOLUTION: This erasure mechanism 20 has a reflection surface 40, which reflects erasure light beams emitted by 1st to 3rd fluorescent lamps 36a, 36b, and 36c. This reflecting surface 40 is provided with sheet members 42a and 42b, which have specific width and high reflection efficiency at both the lengthwise end sides of the reflecting surface 40 according to light quantity distribution characteristics of the 1st to 3rd fluorescent lamps 36a, 36b, and 36c.
