PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To electrify a surface of an image carrier to be a specified constant value even when a gap is varied in an electrifying device having a discharge generated between an electrifying member and the surface of the image carrier by applying voltage from a power source device to an electrifying member which is installed with a specified gap facing the surface of the image carrier. SOLUTION: In the device, superposed voltage of DC voltage which is controlled to be constant voltage and AC voltage which is controlled to be constant voltage is applied to the electrifying member 2.
