PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection head having a large number of ejection openings and suitable for multilevel halftoning in which liquid is ejected from each ejection opening by receiving low frequency driving signals through a small number of signal lines. SOLUTION: A plurality of heaters 101-10300 generating thermal energy for generating bubbles in liquid, and driving transistors 11 for respective heaters 101-10300 are provided on an element substrate 1. Furthermore, a shift register 25 receiving serial data of specified number of bits of data for each heater 101-10300 and extracting data for each heater 101-10300 as parallel data from the serial data, and means (a binary counter 24, a flip-flop 23, an AND circuit 22) for generating a number of driving pulses represented by corresponding parallel data from the shift register 25 and applying them to corresponding heaters 101-10300 are provided. |
